Strategic pension plan study

• In the context of French pension reforms and the PACTE law (for company growth and transformation), a major player in the French insurance sector commissioned us to carry out a strategic study
• The objective was to define both their positioning on the group pension plan market, and the best internal setup for this market positioning

Our intervention was centred around several main points:

• A strategic market positioning study
• Carrying out interviews with the main decision-makers (insurers, brokers, experts, etc.)
• Evaluation of the private pension plan market in France and its development prospects (particularly in relation to the PACTE law)
• Creation of a competitive benchmark and evaluation of the player’s market positioning
• Determination of development scenarios and projections on expected future activity flows
• Assistance in internal negotiations relating to the group’s reorganisation

• Throughout the project, the 99 Advisory team and the client identified related topics that appeared to be essential to addressing the main issue
• We therefore worked on various key topics such as pension contract management (internally or via partnerships), distribution (notably the management of the regional bank network), asset management, and employee savings.

• A clear vision on current and future positioning, along with operational recommendations for each scenario
• Implementation of an internal structure consistent with the client’s market positioning in group pension plans.
